Kashmir warmer despite snowfall

Night temperatures were below normal in some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

They were markedly above normal in Rajasthan and some parts of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, and appreciably above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa.

They were above normal in central Maharashtra and some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, the Bihar plateau, Saurashtra, Kutch and the remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and were normal over the rest of the country, barring Arunachal Pradesh from where data were sparse.

Rain or snow occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or snow is likely to occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in the hills of West Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, the plains of west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Kutch, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
