Bail plea of alleged killers of BJP leader dismissed

Principal district sessions judge Masilamani dismissed the bail petitions of Mohamed Farook and Khalilur Rahman, arrested in connection with the murder of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Tiruchirapalli town unit president Dr V Sridhar on February 2.

A 12-member gang killed Dr Sridhar near his residence at Annamalainagar in Tiruchirapalli.

The Crime Branch had indicated the involvement of Muslim fundamentalists in the murder. Later four persons were arrested -- Khalilur Rahman (28) and Mohamed Farook (25) from Tiruchirapalli and Badusha (19) and Thamimun Ansari (19) from Melapalayam in Tirunelveli district.
