Talbott 'happy' with eighth round of talks

E-Mail this report to a friend

Though there have been no breakthroughs, United States Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott ''is satisfied'' with the results of his just-concluded eighth round of talks with Indian and Pakistani officials.

White House spokesman Joe Lockhart said, ''Talbott is satisfied with the outcome and found them to be the most productive talks to date.''

He said it was important to continue with the process: ''I believe there will be another round of these talks in the near future. And he (Talbott) was quite pleased with the progress."
