Cold wave in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan

Cold wave conditions prevailed in Punjab and in some parts of Haryana, Rajasthan and northwest Madhya Pradesh.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of north Gujarat region and were below normal in some parts of Vidarbha and in the remaining parts of Haryana.

Temperatures were appreciably above normal in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, in the Bihar plains, Goa and in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, south central Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. They were above normal in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and in some parts of the Bihar plateau and east Madhya Pradesh.

They were normal over the rest of the country other than in Arunchal Pradesh from where the data available was sparse.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in east Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha , at a few places in west Madhya Pradesh and at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, the Konkan, Goa and central Maharashtra.

Very light rain has also occurred at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or snow likely to occur at isolated places in hills of west Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, south Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, the Gujarat region, north central Maharashtra, Kerala and the Lakshadweep islands. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
