Meeting to discuss Sabarimala incident

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Kerala government has convened a high-level meeting in Trivandrum on February 10 to discuss measures for Sabarimala to prevent mishaps such as the one on January 14 in which 53 pilgrims were killed, Devaswom Minister A Neelalohithadasan Nadar told the state assembly on Monday.

Replying to a submission, he said the government had also urged the Travancore Devaswom Board to increase the ex-gratia benefit for the families of the six Keralites killed in the incident.

The board had informed the government that it could take a decision only after clearance from the Kerala high court.
