Advani's men set out for Jehanabad

A two-member home ministry team led by Special Secretary R D Kapoor Monday left for Bihar to make an on-the-spot study of the situation in Jehanabad district, where 22 dalits were massacred on January 25.

The decision to despatch the team of senior officials was taken following a meeting between Governor Sunder Singh Bhandari and Home Minister L K Advani a few days ago.

The team will hold talks with state government officials and also ascertain views of the cross section of the society on the law and order situation.

During his meeting with Advani, Bhandari he had sought the intervention of the centre to improve the law and order situation.

This is the second official team that has been deputed to Bihar.
