Dangs fears anti-Christian violence

E-Mail this report to a friend

Dangs district's United Tribal Christian Council fears anti-Christian violence again this year.

In a memorandum submitted to the district magistrate and collector, UTCC president S A Macwan stated that the anti-social and anti-religious activities of the Hindu Jagaran Manch might spark violence during Christmas.

The council assured the authorities that Christians in Dangs would like to celebrate the festival peacefully.

It has also called upon the entire Christian community in the district to maintain peace and harmony while celebrating the festival and added that in case of any untoward incidents and loss of life or property the sole responsibility would be that of the Gujarat government.
