Clinton 'hopeful' of ending Kashmir row

E-Mail this report to a friend

US President Bill Clinton has said he saw some ''hopeful signs'' of a possible resolution of the Kashmir issue.

''I look forward to making a real stab at that the next year,'' Clinton yesterday told a fund-raiser for Senator Tim Johnson, a South Dakota Democrat.

''The Indian subcontinent would have limitless potential in the 21st century if the differences... can be reconciled,'' Clinton said, directing his comments to a handful of Pakistani-Americans in the audience.
