Suspected ISI agent caught in Tripura

Border Security Force jawans arrested a suspected agent of the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence from Simna area of west Tripura recently and recovered foreign currencies from him.

Police today said the jawans caught Pradip Kumar Kanu (38) when he was moving about in a suspicious manner at Simna, close to the Bangladesh border.

Kanu hails from Karimganj in Assam.

The BSF recovered from him currency notes of Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh and Thailand and a sketch of a major bridge.

Kanu is suspected to be an agent of the ISI and a member of the banned United Liberation Front of Asom.

He was later handed over to the Tripura police.
