Monsoon to continue in North-East

Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 48 hours.

The southwest monsoon has been vigorous in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and active in the Bihar plains.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at most places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam and Meghalaya, at many places in Lakshadweep, at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, the Bihar plateau and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Orissa, the hills of west Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh and Saurashtra and Kutch.

Very light rain also occurred at isolated places in east Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, central Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely at most places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar, at a few places in Orissa, east Uttar Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at isolated places over the rest of the country outside Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan where the weather will be mainly dry.
