E-Mail this report to a friend

Dreaded gangster Ashwin Naik was brought to Bombay today from New Delhi by a special team of the Bombay crime branch amidst tight security, police sources said.

He is wanted by the Bombay police for the last five years in several cases of murder, extortion and other crimes.

Naik arrived from New Delhi by the Rajdhani Express along with the special police team. On his arrival at the Bombay Central station, he was whisked by the police and plainclothesmen to the Bombay police headquarters at the Crawford Market.

He has been kept in a cell there.

To bring Naik from New Delhi, the Bombay police had obtained a special transit remand. He is likely to be produced today at a metropolitan court, police sources said.
