Ram Naik to handle railways

Minister of State for Railways Ram Naik has been given independent charge of the ministry on the recommendation of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee following the resignation of Nitish Kumar, a Rashtrapati Bhawan communique has said.

Kumar had resigned from the council of ministers owning moral responsibility for the Gaisal train accident.
