Wilfred D'Souza's merges his party with NCP in GoaThe Goa Rajiv Congress, headed by former Chief Minister Wilfred d'Souza, has merged with the Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharad Pawar, NCP spokesman Devendra Nath Dwivedi announced in New Delhi today. The NCP will contest the two Lok Sabha seats from Goa and field candidates from the erstwhile GRC, he said. Talks on sharing seats in Maharashtra are also on between the NCP, Samajwadi Party, Republican Party of India, the Janata Dal led by H D Deve Gowda, and the Left for past two days, he said, and hoped that adjustments would be finalised in a day or so. Similarly, the seat-sharing agreement between the NCP and the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh would be finalised soon, he said. In Bihar, the NCP is hopeful of striking a deal with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. UNI |
