Orissa witnesses heavy showers

Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, the Bihar plateau and Kerala during the next 48 hours.

The southwest monsoon has been active in Orissa.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at most places in east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Kerala, at many places in West Bengal, Sikkim, the Bihar plateau, west Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada and Telangana, at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Haryana, east Rajasthan, central Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Very light rains also occurred at isolated places in the Bihar plains, east Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.
