Congress prepares candidate list for 5 states

The central election committee of the Congress today finalised the names of almost all its candidates for the general election in five states and a Union territory.

The states are Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and the Union territory of Chandigarh.

The CEC, presided over by party president Sonia Gandhi, will continue its deliberations tomorrow.

According to spokesman Ajit Jogi, the Congress list will be released tomorrow.

As in the past, the Congress Working Committee has been converted into the party's CEC.
