BJP has not forgotten Ayodhya and Kashmir, says Mahajan

Information and Broadcasting Minister Pramod Mahajan has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party had not forgotten the issues of Ayodhya temple and Article 370.

''If soldiers from all states can make supreme sacrifices in the Kargil sector, every Indian citizen has the right to reside in that state,'' he said while talking to newspersons last evening.

Mahajan said the BJP did not want to make the Kargil conflict a poll issue. ''It is the victory of the nation not of any particular political party,'' he added. ''Kargil would, however, become a poll issue in the sense that the BJP has to answer a series of queries put forward by the Congress in this respect,'' he added.

To another query, he said that a proposal to fix the number of cabinet members was being considered. ''As per the proposal, the number of ministers would be decided on the basis of the number of members in the house. Such a provision would help in solving various problems,'' he said.
