Paswan not averse to BJP

E-Mail this report to a friend

Senior Janata Dal leader and former railway minister Ramvilas Paswan has said he would explore the possibility of forming a new front in Bihar which could include the Bharatiya Janata Party to fight the 'corrupt Rashtriya Janata Dal'.

Paswan told newspersons in Patna that secularism or communalism was not the real issue confronting the state where the fight had to be against corruption and criminal politics of the ruling party.

Paswan said his party would try to mobilise all anti-RJD parties in the state under one banner. He was not averse to having electoral adjustments even with the BJP since 'corruption is more of a problem' in the state. He denied there was any rift in his party on the Bihar issue.

Asked how his party would join hands with the BJP, Paswan said ''now the most corrupt people are claiming to be secular.''
