BJP blasts Congress

The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to launch a nationwide campaign to expose the Congress which has been trying to 'destabilise' the coalition government at the Centre.

The three-day BJP national executive meeting in Panjim, which began yesterday, is expected to chalk out an action plan in this regard.

''The three-pronged strategy envisages streamlining the party and the government and exposing all those who have failed to deliver the goods in the past and are now trying to destabilise our government,'' said party spokesperson K L Sharma.

Briefing the media after the inaugural function of the national executive meet, Sharma said, "The Congress game is primarily aimed at diverting the people's attention from Bihar, where its opposition to President's rule has been drawing flak."

Criticising the Left parties for joining hands with the Congress on issues like Bihar and anti-Christian violence, BJP president Shasikant 'Kushabhau' Thakre also alleged that the party was being painted as ''communal at the bidding of external forces that want a more pliable government in New Delhi".

Thakre claimed "ours is the cleanest government India has had since Indira Gandhi legitimised corruption''. He argued that no government in the world 'is free of corrupt practices'.
