Emigration to Japan, NZ, Australia simplifiedTo further liberalise emigration procedures, the labour ministry has issued a notification exempting citizens of India going to Japan, New Zealand and Australia from requirements of emigration check. This decision has been taken after considering the standard of living and working conditions available to the workers in these countries. As a result of the decision, persons having the endorsement 'emigration check required' on their passport and wishing to go to the above mentioned countries will not be required to obtain clearance from the offices of protector of emigrants. Already 17 categories of persons including graduates, degree/diploma holders from recognised institutes, income tax payees, spouses and dependent children of gazetted officers, persons who have already worked abroad for three years, persons going to North America, Pakistan, Bangladesh and European countries (excluding CIS countries) are exempted from emigration check requirement formalities.
