Sharief's airdash to London raises eyebrows

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief has suddenly gone to London.

He left Islamabad late on Tuesday night by a special plane on an unspecified mission. He is being accompanied by Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz.

Sharief decided to proceed to London after having a high-level meeting with his cabinet ministers.

It is believed that during his sudden visit to London, Sharief will enquire about the health of the president of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nayahan. However, raising funds to meet country's financial crisis could be one of the main reasons which the prime minister will discuss with the UAE president. Earlier, Abu Dhabi had assured all possible assistance to Pakistan.

During his short stay in London a meeting with the Muhajir Quami Movement chief Altaf Hussain cannot be ruled out, since the government has improved its position in the province of Sind following the parting of ways by the MQM.
