Laloo, Mishra remanded to judicial custody for a day

E-Mail this report to a friend

The designated special Central Bureau of Investigation court today remanded former Bihar chief ministers Laloo Prasad Yadav and Jagannath Mishra along with four others to judicial custody till tomorrow, after inconclusively hearing their regular bail petitions in connection with the multi-crore rupee fodder scam.

Earlier this afternoon, all the six surrendered before the court in deference to the Supreme Court order and sought regular bails in case 64(a)/96 related to fraudulent withdrawal of over Rs 940 million from Deoghar treasury in 1996.

Designated CBI judge S K Lal postponed the hearing for tomorrow at about 2.45 pm owing to the demise of a city advocate. All other courts followed suit.

The six were being sent to the Beur central jail and would be produced in the court tomorrow for further hearing.
