Rains to continue in SouthHeavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, North Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka and Kerala during the next 48 eight hours. The Southwest monsoon has been active in Rayalaseema and Kerala. Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep, at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Orissa, Saurashtra and Kutch, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, and at isolated places in West Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa and south interior Karnataka. Very light rain also occurred at isolated places in Vidarbha and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or thundershowers are likely at most places in Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Rayalaseema, North Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Gujarat, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, South Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country. Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Himachal Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, in some parts of Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Prades and Gujarat region, and above normal in Rajasthan and in parts of Assam, Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and in the remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat region. Night temperatures were markedly above normal in West Madhya Pradesh, north central Maharashtra and in parts of East Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, and appreciably above normal in parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, West Uttar pradesh and in the remaining parts of East Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan and Gujarat state. They were above normal in parts of Haryana, East Rajasthan and in the remaining parts of East Madhya Pradesh.
