President calls on prime minister

President K R Narayanan on Monday visited Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is convalescing after a cataract operation.

Narayanan drove straight to the prime minister's Race Course residence in the morning. He was with Vajpayee for 20 minutes.

Vajpayee underwent the cataract operation of his right eye at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Sunday. Doctors termed the operation 'routine' and 'successful'.
