Bodo militants gun down 14

In a spate of terrorist violence, suspected Bodo militants gunned down 14 people, including three members of a family and critically injured another in Darrang district of Assam last night, official reports said.

The report said that the militants shot five people and seriously injured another at Dewanpukhuri village in Khairabari district.

The militants also gunned down five people in Malipara Gaon under the Tangla police station.

A group of about 12 militants forcibly entered the home of one Gopi Kalita in Banara Gaon village under the Khairabari police station and fired indiscriminately killing him and his two relatives, the report said.

The militants also shot dead a school headmaster in Bagribari village.
