Night temperatures dip in central India

Rain or thundershowers occurred at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu in the last 24 hours.

Very light rain also occurred at isolated places in south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in north Gujarat region, north-central Maharashtra, Vidarbha and parts of west Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch, and Telangana. They were below normal in south coastal Orissa and Marathwada.

Night temperatures were markedly above normal in parts of Assam and Meghalaya and appreciably above normal in the remaining parts of the two north-eastern states as well as parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and north-west Rajasthan.

They were above normal in Gangetic West Bengal, the Bihar plains, and north coastal Andhra Pradesh, and normal in the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and south Rajasthan from where data were sparse.
