E-Mail this report to a friend

The special one-day session of the Goa assembly has been summoned by Governor, Lieutenant General (retired) J R F Jacob late last night to enable Chief Minister Wilfred De Souza to seek a vote of confidence in his councial of ministers on November 26 as decided on Sunday night.

The governor rejected the cabinet recommendation forwarded to the former yesterday suggesting that the government would take the vote of confidence on December 2, the first day of the winter session.

The Congress staked its claim to form a new government after a breakaway group of the ruling Goa Rajiv Congress rejoined the Congress.

The outcome of the trust vote on November 26 will decide whether the Congress would form the government.
