4 killed in Jammu blast

At least four people were killed and a few others injured in a powerful bomb blast at Surankote in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Tuesday.

In Rajouri district, two foreign mercenaries, including a district commander of the outlawed Hizbul Mujahideen, were killed in an encounter on Monday night.

A police spokesman said the blast occurred near Madana bridge at about 0820 hours. The dead have been identified as Rehman Joo, Mohemmad Bashir, Bashir Ahmad and Mohammad Sharief.

The area has been cordoned off and a combing operation is on.
