Monsoon continues to lash SouthHeavy rains are likely at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu and Kerala during the next 48 hours. The north-east monsoon was active in Tamil Nadu. Rain or thundershowers occurred at most of the places in Vidarbha and Kerala, at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal and south interior Karnataka, at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, central Maharashtra, Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh and west Madhya Pradesh. Very light rain also occurred at isolated places in Telangana. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or thundershowers are likely at most places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, at many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and coastal and south interior Karnataka, at a few places in Maharashtra, Telangana, north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in west Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country. Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in parts of Saurashtra and Kutch, and were below normal in parts of Himachal Pradesh. They were appreciably above normal in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, north Konkan, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and in parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Haryana and Gujarat, and were above normal in south interior Karnataka and in parts of Assam, Meghalaya and Rayalaseema. They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh, from where the data was sparse.
