North-east monsoon active in Tamil Nadu

Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the next 48 hours, with the north-east monsoon active in the region.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Haryana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Lakshadweep, at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Rayalaseema, and Kerala, and at isolated places in Orissa, west Rajasthan, Gujarat region and south interior Karnataka.

Very light rain has also occurred at isolated places in Telangana. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, at many places in coastal Orissa, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep, at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Rayalaseema and coastal and south interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in interior Orissa, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Telangana.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were below normal in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Kutch.

They were markedly above normal in some parts of east Rajasthan, north-west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, and north-central Maharashtra, and appreciably above normal in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan and parts of the Konkan, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema.

Night temperatures were above normal in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, and Marathwada, and normal in the rest of the country outside of Arunachal Pradesh from where data were sparse.
