Guerillas kill member of rival outfit in Tripura

Tribal guerrillas shot dead a member of a rival outfit and injured two others in separate incidents in Tripura last night.

The police today said the militants raided the house of one Abhiram Debbarma, a collaborator of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura, took him away and killed him. Police recovered the body yesterday.

In another incident, tribal guerrillas attacked a local market at Kanchanpur, in north Tripura, and injured two businessmen seriously. The injured were hospitalised.

Meanwhile, a group of people burnt down several houses, belonging to another community at Dhanchakma village in West Tripura last night. Senior police officials along with reinforcements rushed to the spot to bring the situation "under control".
