Rains continue to lash south India

Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in south Tamil Nadu, south Kerala and Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours.

The north-east monsoon has been vigorous in Tamil Nadu.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, at a few places in Konkan and Goa, Kerala and Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in Saurashtra and Kutch, central Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

Very light rain also occurred at isolated places in interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely at most places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, at many places in Lakshadweep, at a few places in coastal and south interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in coastal West Bengal, coastal Orissa, south Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were below normal in parts of south Tamil Nadu.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Bihar plains, Haryana, west Rajasthan, Gujarat, north Konkan, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, north interior Karnataka and in parts of east Uttar Pradesh.

They were above normal in Jammu, north-east Madhya Pradesh, south Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and in parts of West Bengal and of Rayalaseema, and in the remaining parts of east Uttar Pradesh.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunchal Pradesh and west Madhya Pradesh from where the data were sparse.
