Wet spell to continue in South

Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Kerala during the next 48 hours.

The north-east monsoon has been active in Tamil Nadu. Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and coastal Andhra Pradesh, at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar plateau, Gujarat, Telangana, Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa and east Madhya Pradesh.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely at most places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Kerala, at many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, at a few places in Orissa, Rayalaseema, coastal and south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar plateau, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were below normal in parts of Tamil Nadu. They were markedly above normal in south Rajasthan, Gujarat and in parts of madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Telangana, and appreciably above normal in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Orissa, Saurashtra and Kutch, and in parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka.

They were above normal in parts of Assam, Meghalaya, west Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan and coastal Karnataka, and normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh and Punjab from where the data were sparse.
