Court dismisses Kesri's plea on defamation suit

E-Mail this report to a friend

A Delhi court has dismissed former Congress president Sitaram Kesri's plea to transfer a defamation suit against him from before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Prem Kumar.

District Judge M A Khan also rejected Kesri's application for staying the case.

The Rashtriyaswayam Sevak Sangh filed the suit following Kesri's alleged statement blaming it for the Coimbatore blasts.

The Supreme Court had earlier allowed the transfer of similar cases against Kesri in Purulia (West Bengal) and Pratapgarh (Rajasthan) to Delhi.

CMM Prem Kumar has summoned Kesri on November 3.
