Thakre announces 149-member national executive

Bharatiya Janata Party president Kushabhau Thakre today announced a 149-member national executive.

Addressing a news conference in New Delhi, Thakre said vice-president K L Sharma would continue to be the party spokesman till alternate arrangements were made.

He said he would soon convene a meeting of office-bearers to allocate duties.

The seven-member team of vice-presidents has Mahila Morcha president Mridula Sinha and Karia Munda as new entrants. Others are K Jana Krishnamurthy, K L Sharma, Kailashpati Mishra and Bangaru Laxman.

The general secretaries are K N Govindacharya, M Venkaiah Naidu and Narendra Modi, Sangha Priya Gautam and Sumitra Mahajan (the last two being new members).

V P Goel will be the treasurer.

The secretaries are Ashwini Kumar, Tanvir Ahmed, Basavaraj Patil, P S Kulaste, Padmanabh Acharya and Rajveer Singh.

The list contains 13 women representatives, 10 SC and ST candidates and eight from the minorities.

Dr R K Sinha will be in charge of the central office.
