Gales expected along Bengal coastHeavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura in the next 24 hours. Gales reaching speed upto 70 kilometres per hour are likely along, and of, West Bengal coast in the next 12 hours. Strong surface winds, with speed reaching upto 50 kmph, is likely over Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur during the next 24 hours. Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in parts of Rajasthan and of West Madhya Pradesh. Heat wave conditions also prevailed in parts of Haryana, north madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana, north interior Karnataka and Rajasthan. Day temperatures were markedly above normal in parts of Assam and Meghalaya, and appreciably above normal in parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Saurashtra, Kutch, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka and Kerala. They were above normal in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Rayalseema and south interior Karnataka. They were appreciably below normal in parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar plateau, and normal over the rest of the country outside Arunchal Pradesh from where data was sparse. Rain or thundershowers occurred at most places in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Haryana, West Madhya Pradesh and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Very light rain occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Rayalseema. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Lakshadweep, at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, and at isolated places in Arunchal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, coastal Orissa, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
