VHP hurt at Advani's sadness about Babri demolition

Vishwa Hindu Parishad central secretary B L Sharma 'Prem' has expressed surprise and anguish at Home Minister L K Advani's statement that December 6, 1992, the day of the Babri Masjid demolition, was one of the most painful and saddest days of his life.

Sharma, who is also the Akhand Hindustan Morcha's convener, said the statement clearly indicated that Advani was trying to appease Muslims.

''Millions of kar sevaks and devotees who staked their lives to break the 400-year-old blot of slavery by demolishing the Babri Masjid have been insulted by this statement,'' the VHP leader said.

December 6, 1992, Sharma continued, was a day when ''Hindu glory and pride were restored. Future generations will always remember it.''
