Heat wave continues in parts of Maharashtra

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Kerala and Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in Andaman and Nicobar islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, North Bihar plains, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, North Rajasthan, South Central Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in coastal Karnataka and in parts of South Central Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, and above normal in Kutch, Konkan, southern interior Karnataka, Kerala and in the remaining parts of North Central Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

They were appreciably to markedly below normal in North Orissa, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and parts of East Madhya Pradesh, and below normal in southern coastal Andhra Pradesh and parts of Telangana.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from where data was sparse.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in parts of North Central Maharashtra and Vidarbha. The highest maximum temperature of 45.1 degree celsius was recorded at Jalgaon today.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in Assam, Meghalaya and Orissa, at a few places in Haryana and at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, East Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, West Madhya Pradesh, Central Maharashtra, Vidarbha , Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Very light rain occurred at isolated places in Punjab.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.
