Bodos shoot dead 12 Santhals, injure 13

Bodo tribals massacred 12 Santhals and critically wounded 13 others at Barbil village in Assam's strife-torn Kokrajhar district early on Saturday.

Official reports said the tribals attacked the village, burnt houses and opened fire, killing 10 people on the spot and injuring 15 others. Two succumbed to injuries later.

Civil and police officials have rushed to the area with additional forces.

This is the second massacre in the district within 12 days. Earlier, Bodo miscreants killed 14 Santhal bus passengers at Bismuri on May 3.
