Heat wave continues in AndhraHanmakonda, Medak and Rentilchintala in Andhra Pradesh recorded 42 degree celsius on Monday. The mercury continued at 40 degree celsius for the fifth consecutive day in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Day temperatures were above normal at a few places in North Telengana. The rest of the state recorded normal temperature. Rain occurred at one or two places over South Telengana. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, South Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country. Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in coastal Karnataka and parts of Saurashtra, and were normal in coastal Orissa, Assam, Meghalaya, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, southern interior Karnataka and parts of Kutch, East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa. They were appreciably below normal in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Punjab and coastal Andhra Pradesh, and were normal in Kashmir and the remaining parts of Gangetic West Bengal. They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh from where data was sparse. Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Gujarat region and Central Maharashtra. Rain or thundershowers occurred at a few places in Bihar plateau and Marathwada, and at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa and Central Maharashtra. Very light rain occurred at isolated places in Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.
