Vajpayee denies being remote controlled by RSS

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today strongly denied the Opposition allegation that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition government was being run through 'remote control' by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Delivering his valedictory address to the party national council, Vajpayee said it was 'his government' and no one else had any control over it.

He maintained the BJP was a party with a difference and that was why it had stuck to its policy of 'one man, one post'.

He said the party was run on the basis of consensus and he had opted for the same policy to run the government. The success of the government lies in rule by consensus, he added.

He called upon the party workers to adapt themselves to a new role as they belonged to a ruling coalition which was a 'great experiment'.
