Pak flays world for soft stand on BJP's nuke policy

Pakistan called for international sanctions against India today and said the world should respond strongly to New Delhi's plans to rethink its nuclear weapons policy.

''We feel the international community's reaction was not strong enough,'' foreign ministry spokesman Tariq Altaf said at a weekly briefing.

''It is a very serious issue that can disrupt peace in the region and create a very dangerous situation,'' he said.

Altaf was referring to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government's national agenda which called for a review of the country's nuclear weapon's policy.
