Prabhakar Rao surrendersP V Prabhakar Rao, former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao's son and an accused in the Rs 1.33 billion urea scam, surrendered before the special judge for economic offences following the dismissal of his petition challenging the non-bailable warrants issued by the special judge against him by the Andhra Pradesh high court on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, the high court also dismissed Prabhakar Rao's petition against the criminal petition filed against him by the Enforcement Directorate. Special Judge M Bhaskar recalled the NBWs issued by him on March 5 after Prabhakar Rao gave an assurance to appear before him again on April 1. Prabhakar Rao approached the special judge as he had only two options, either to move the Supreme Court challenging the high court's order or approach the special judge. He chose the latter to avoid the ignominy of arrest. UNI
