DMK wins PondicherryFor the first time the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam bagged the lone Lok Sabha seat from Pondicherry, beating the Congress. DMK candidate and former minister Arumugam trounced Pradesh Congress president P S Hanmugam by a convincing 36,774 margin. Pondicherry has been with the Congress since 1980, when it was an ally of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
