BJP wins five Gujarat assembly seats

All the five results declared in the Gujarat assembly elections went to the BJP tonight, and the party is leading in 45 other constituencies. The state has a total of 182 constituencies.

Among the winners are former chief minister Keshubhai Patel, who won the Visavadar seat. The other four seats won by the BJP are: Surat-North, Surat-East, Keshod and Junagadh.

The Congress is in the second spot, having established leads in about 30 constituencies.

The Janata Dal had surged ahead in two constituencies while the ruling the Rashtriya Janata Party is trailing in most of the constituencies.
