Advani in unassailable position in Gandhinagar

Bharatiya Janata President L K Advani had established a virtually unassailable lead of 110,000 votes in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency over his nearest Congress rival P K Datta.

The BJP nominees are leading in 17 other parliamentary constituencies of Gujarat, where trends are available.

Congress nominees are leading in the remaining eight Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.

Other BJP stalwarts in the lead include former state BJP chief Kashiram Rana (Surat).

Indian Youth Congress president Satyajitsinh Gaekwad (Baroda) and prominent Congress leader Sanat Mehta (Surendranagar) are trailing.
