Fear of cholera grips Jamnagar

Five villages around Jamnagar city in Gujarat have been declared as cholera-threatened by the collector of Jamnagar.

According to official sources, the villages are Bedi, Juna Nagna, Nava Nagna, Navagam, and Vibnhapar.

Precautionary measures were being taken to deal with the water-borne disease and the mamlatdars were appointed as controlling authorities, the sources said.

Meanwhile, a report from Jamnagar said a large number of people with stomach problems and fever had been admitted to the Irwin hospital during the past few days.
