Wet weather over Kerala, Andaman islands

Heavy rains are likely to occur at isolated places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, South Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala during the next 48 hours.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Andaman and Nicobar islands, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep, at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, and at isolated places over the rest of the country outside Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat where the weather will be mainly dry.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in North Gujarat, the remaining parts of Rajasthan and in some parts of Haryana and Punjab, and above normal in Kashmir, Saurashtra and Kutch.

The Southwest monsoon has been active in Kerala. Rain or thundershowers occurred at most places in Andaman and Nicobar islands, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, at many places in Marathwada, at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya, East Uttar Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.
