Rains lash the Indian subcontinentHeavy rains are likely to occur at a few places in north Rajasthan, the Andaman and Nicobar islands, southeast Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala during next 48 hours.The southwest monsoon has been active in Assam and Meghalaya. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and at a few places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, east Rajasthan, Lakshadweep, east Madhya Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and coastal and north interior Karnataka. Very light rain has also occurred at isolated places in Haryana and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, the Andaman and Nicobar islands, Arunchal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, the plains of west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Lakshadweep. Rains will also occur at a few places in hills of west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Madhya Pradesh, south madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka and at isolated places over the rest of the country. In Bihar, though, the weather will be mainly dry. Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, the Bihar plateau and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Heat wave conditions also prevailed in some parts of the Bihar plains, east Uttar Pradesh and east Madhya Pradesh. Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of north interior Karnataka and in the remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh. Temperatures were above normal in some parts of the plains of west Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, Rayalaseema and in remaining parts of Orissa. They were markedly below normal in west Rajasthan, Gujarat and Kutch and were appreciably below normal in some parts of Haryana, Punjab, east Madhya Pradesh and Saurashtra. They were normal over the rest of the country.
