Judicial remand of Coimbatore blast accused extended

The Kozhikode judicial first class magistrate-IV today extended till June 15 the judicial remand of Ooma Babu who is allegedly involved in the Coimbatore serial bomb blasts.

Security had been tightened at the court premises, following rumours that he might be whisked away by his supporters.

Meanwhile, activists of the People's Democratic Party, today staged a demonstration in front of the main telephone exchange in Kozhikode, demanding the release of PDP chairman Abdul Nasser Madani now in judicial custody in Tamil Nadu in connection with the blasts.
