Vajpayee turns short story writer

Switching from his poetry and rhetoric to prose, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee took time off to write a short story for a children's magazine.

Published in the Hindi weekly, Nandan, the story titled, Jhompari mein bhagwan, has as its moral the need for modest living.

Though the story has a picture of the celebrity author, it does not clarify when actually the story was written.

Vajpayee's story revolves around a king who is given to grand rituals, who renounced the throne and all its trappings when god chose to appear before a poor devotee.
